Trap Game

Date: 24 September 2012

Coming off a convincing win Sunday over the St. Louis Rams, the Green Bay Packers are not looking past their next opponent. The 4-3 Packers will be taking on the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars.  Both teams have some key injuries to their rosters, so it will be interesting to see what changes are made to lineups.  This is an important game for both teams for different reasons. The Jaguars will be looking to come out firing at the Packers to keep playoff hopes alive.  The Packers are looking for a win to keep pace with the Chicago Bears in the NFC North division.  The Pack should not take any chances this week against the struggling Jaguars.  Any given Sunday, an underdog can steal a victory away from the overwhelming favorite.

The Pack will be undermanned this week agian with key injuries to top players Charles Woodson, B.J. Raji and Greg Jennings.  This is going to be time for the Packers bench players to step up and make a big contribution.  Clay Matthews, who is second in the league, with nine sacks so far on the year, will need to control the tempo of the game and make sure that the Jaguars offense does not get into a rhythm.

The Jaguars will be hurt on offense, with their all star running back Maurice Jones Drew out with a sprained left foot.  Look for the Packers to try and take it to the Jaguars early in the game.  You do not want to give this team any reason to think that they can pull off a major upset and get their season back on track. If the Packers play with the intensity they have been playing with the past two weeks, the Packers should easily go to 5-3 on the season. Kick off on Sunday is at 12 p.m. central time, and be sure to tune in to WTMJ 620 AM for live coverage of the game. GO PACK GO.
