I asked some Bradley University students for their reactions on the weather.  Last week it was 70 and everyone was wearing shorts and then on Tuesday (March 29, 2011) it was snowing most of the morning.

Just this past Monday Bradley University signed new basketball coach Geno Ford. Ford comes to the Braves from Kent State University, where he was successful in receiving conference coach of the year twice and two conference titles in the Mid-American Conference. The hiring of Ford is hopefully the first step in the right direction for Braves basketball. Ford hopes to turn around what most would call a disappointing season, and continue his streak of conference titles delivered.

My story looks at how Bradley students are responding to the unseasonably cold weather we’ve been experiencing for the past few weeks. It primarily focuses on their reactions to the cold spring and the ways they have been making due with the situation they found themselves in.

This video is students describing what they do in the winter months when the weather outside is frigid. Students are stuck inside their off campus houses or dorm rooms with little to do. As spring nears students are anxious to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. But so far this spring the temperatures outside have been chilly and have not reached spring like conditions. Students explain their frustration.

While the spring weather was still quite springy, I caught up with some students (and squirrels) to talk about the weather. How original. Most worn-out small talk in the book, but spring weather is an exciting time for all, as the freezing winter finally gives way to sunshine, flowers, chirping birds and most importantly, warmth!

Spring has arrived and although many students haven’t been embracing the less cold temperatures a select few have gathered on the quad to play soccer with friends, play catch and raise money for their organizations.

Last year at this time students were enjoying outdoors activities and studying outside; however, today the weather is freezing and not very pleasant. Hopefully, the weather gets warmer, but as for now, students are eager to give their opinions on how they feel. In this video, I interview several students how what activities they may do inside because of the weather. I also touch on how warm weather is just around the corner.
